Another option for Mac users that is simpler and cheaper is Orbicule's Witness. Witness turns your Mac into a home alarm system, using its iSight camera as a motion sensor. If motion is detected, Witness sends mugshots and video to your iPhone or iPad.

The way you present yourself has everything to do with how well your ideas will be accepted by people...

Setting up a personal VPN does not have to be difficult, time consuming or expensive. I have used Witopia.net for over five years. Witopia was one of the first personal VPN companies and it retains its commitment to client privacy. personalVPN Pro provides security for our two Macs and our iPhones.

Sorry to read about your troubles with ATT but I can't say that I am surprised... Its customer service can be horrid.

I'm going to try visiting the local Charter office after my recent experience with ATT's new chat-only "customer service." An issue that would have taken at most ten minutes to resolve on the telephone required two chat sessions and around an hour of my time. As far as I can tell ATT no longer lists any phone numbers

Unlocking a smartphone really pays off when it comes time to sell it.

Should I assume that these apps are for Windows? I don't see any mention of the operating system; I think that it should be in the article headline...

Personal VPN services such as Witopia.net (which I have used for over five years and highly recommend…) have VPN servers located all over the world. It's very easy to install and use; select a server in a country of your choice and go to town! Witopia's service works with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac

They offer very good protection without adding too much bulk. I prefer wearing my phone on my belt so the robust belt clip is a welcome accessory which isn't available with many cases.

Thanks for your opinion. I just checked it out at Amazon.com; I don't recall any other software that I have looked at having a 1.5 average user rating! Frequent crashes that often result in a total loss of work is a common complaint… I just downloaded LibreOffice and I'll be giving it a try.

I'm on my third iPhone combined with an Otterbox Defender case. I install the iPhone in the case as soon as I remove it from its box. During the time I own the phone I ocassionally remove it from the case and clean the phone and case using OmniCleanz. The cleaning takes care of any tiny dust particles that may find

Is there an alternative to Word for Mac users that will meet the requirements for a final manuscript? I have OpenOffice but I have never had a reason to use it. The actual writing is done using Scrivener and DevonTHINK Pro for managing resources. (I've used it for many years and I prefer it to Evernote.)

Adobe's new subscription scheme has a definite upside: It is now possible to use its various software products by paying a monthly or annual fee instead of having to spend of hundreds dollars upfront for a software license.

I was a long-time Eudora user and when I had to go searching for a new desktop email client there was nothing that equaled it... I finally settled on GyazMail and except for a couple of minor quibbles it has served me well for several years.

Simply store your Scrivener folder in Dropbox and you are Good To Go syncing among multiple computers. Google Drive is not recommended because it doesn't work well with multiple small production files. More info can be found at http://creativityhacker.ca/2013/04/23/scr….

Before plunking down your hard-earned money on Rosetta Stone take the time to read editorial and user reviews of the course. When I was researching language courses and software Rosetta Stone had a lot more negative reviews than other popular options.

I became enamored with Lava Lamps over 50 years ago when I first saw one in a gift shop located on Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, California. (I had a daily paper route that began at the top of Alvarado Street and terminated at the end of the wharf.) My wife and I are in our 60s and our living room Lava Lamps get

Sorry- I didn't intend for my post to be a solution for your particular situation. (But I can see how it could be interpreted as such…) Depending on the bound materials a flatbed might work if you can live with how long it can take to complete a scan.

You don't need a huge, expensive document scanner. And forget about flatbed scanners, which are much slower than document scanners. Dedicated document scanners are the way to go if you want to go "paperless."

I wear Teva sandals 12 months of the year; Smartwool socks are great in cold weather if it isn't raining or snowing. I also wear flip-flops around the house. I rinse in hot water the pair I wore that day before I take a shower. After they are dry they go into my closet clean as a whistle.
