Preach. I have hair on my arms (not a lot, but it's dark and I'm fair). I've never had a woman say squat, but men comment on it all the time - either to ask why I don't shave it, or to helpfully point it out like I'd never noticed my own arms before.

I'm in this category and the struggle is real. I also have a weird amount of me leg length in my thigh (thanks genes) which serves to make already short things look even shorter than they are. Boo

They are so, so unreasonably delicious. They almost make the Ottawa winter worth it.

It really could be!

My (awesome) derm has two clinics side by side in the same building. One does medically necessary OHIP covered stuff, and the other does cosmetic procedures. From who I see going in to the fancy side, he's the go to guy for celebrities shooting in Toronto.

When you're doing major fillers you're right, but if you're going in early and doing "preventative//maintenance" work, the outcome is much more subtle.

My parents had been dating for a few years and were both brushing their teeth at my dad's condo.

Oh, yeah I agree. I don't think the article was suggesting it would be - just pointing out the difference in the urgency with which these crimes are addressed.

I think the article was referring to the fact that there are massive backlogs of rape kits in the US where the DNA collected (i.e. the DNA of the rapist) hasn't even been tested/logged.

It's also pretty fucking offensive to adults on the spectrum. "Oh, if only you had developed a crippling disease instead of being born how you were! We'd all be so much happier."

They're "Quiverfull" and the movement has some pretty fucked up direction around handling emotion. Basically, you have to be happy and smiling 100% of the time, because if you aren't then it means you don't trust god's plan for you (if you did you would gladly accept everything as part of the plan) and are basically a

Eh.... they also got their home declared a church so they don't pay taxes on it, and get all sorts of kickbacks. Their debt-free living is not totally above board.

I'm really hopeful Jessa will escape and drag some of her siblings into the present.

In a way, it makes it all the more obvious that he doesn't value or respect women. He wants daughters, but he wants them because they are useful to him right now from a PR standpoint. That's a fucked up, dehumanizing way to look at your children.

In Canada it is legal, but only with the purpose of reducing/removing the chance of heritable sex-linked disorders.

I'd say with the exception of babies born with measurable levels of illegal narcotics in their system, it would be basically impossible. Especially given the fact that a good percentage of pregnancies are spontaneously aborted/miscarried in the first trimester regardless of conditions.

What about the fact that for this law to be fairly applied, the police would have to investigate every miscarriage (a horrifying additional trauma for a family who has lost a wanted baby) and every baby born with birth defects? Or that criminalizing induced miscarriage is REALLY close (and would almost certainly be

It's also a REAL slippery slope to charge women with homicide for causing her own miscarriage.
