there is no such thing as ‘too soon’ in comedy. you can certainly say they’re dumb jokes, but comedy IS offensive. you’re never going to please everyone and topical jokes have a very short shelf life. it’s not like he excused HW’s behavior, because he didn’t.

why could he possibly be worried about that? wracking my brain for even a hint of what it could mean and what in his life and hollywood in general that might make him reticent. It’s a mystery.

I just discovered the show last week and binged the first season. I enjoyed it. I didn’t read the Dirk novels, but I did read the HHGTTG ‘trilogy’ have listened to the entire original radio serial, the bbc tv series and the movie, all of which I enjoyed to various degrees.
What with Netflix, Amazon, etc all desperate…

Does anyone believe for a moment that this story would have remained under wraps for 20 some odd years if the name was, oh say, David Koch instead of Harvey Weinstein? NBC spiked Ronan Farrow’s story because it didn’t have enough juice? good grief.

Binged Dirk S1 over the weekend - I had no idea it existed. no resemblance to the books, other than generally, but I enjoyed it. Bart is my new favorite superhero and what’s not to love about The Rowdy 3?

It’s like they want to satire bad space movies/series but really it plays as just a bad space movie/series. I could live with completely unrealistic writing and terrible acting if it made me laugh. But it doesn’t make me laugh.
