A few things to note, you re NOT put up against similar level people, so the learning curve and the amount of times you are going to die is high. Find a good Squad or Outfit, and stick close. Look at where that sign is in the picture and then look at where you are measuring from. The tire marks stop about a 1/3 of the way from the closer lightpole to the next. It goes sign, lightpole about 1/3 of the way till the next lightpole, not almost to the next lightpole.

The line is drawn from just past the light  pole, that is just past the sign not seen in the screen cap.  I think you are a lightpole off.
