In this particular case it was not less messy. The gash it ripped in the side was much larger than a slot a screwdriver would have made. The chain acted like a saw to the metal.
I went to take an oil filter off with one of those once .. It was on so tight the chain wrench crushed the filter. It should work 99.9% of the time, but that one time it was a mess..

To me this looks expensive, because a Berrien frame is under $2000 fully welded or under $1000 for a tacked frame (you finish the welding) I want someone to start doing things with Subaru AWD.. Something like this. but a little more off roadish, and cheap like the Berrien frames

Even the other manufactures straight 6's have good reputations GM, earlier Chryslers (slant 6), Ford . The only reason is probably having to deal with the length, vs taking up a more square space.
