For what it’s worth, mine stays logged in (Chrome, Mac). I use LastPass and it might be logging me in (I don't remember how it was set up.)
For Mac, I use the built-in most of the time but when I want to mark up and share the result, I fire up the insanely great (and free) Skitch. Great tool for grabbing things from the screen, adding arrows, texts, circling things, etc.

Making your own is fun but inexpensive short cables are available at dealextreme.com and monioprice.com. I carry three short USB cables: for Apple-30-pin and two of the three USB ends. For the micro-USB, I found a very tiny mini-to-micro USB adapter.

That's what I thought but tests at Serious Eats and Cook's Illustrated show multiple flips work as well. I still toss it and an leave it, flip once, but if I don't like how it looks, no problem re-flipping.
