If you're desperate (e.g. you're at grandma's house and all they have is 1962 A&P giveaway all-stainless knives since used to spackle and change tires), this will help. Hope no one uses this on a good knife.

@TheCrudMan: You mean gaffer's tape. I agree, good stuff. Key advantage is it comes off cleanly and doesn't leave adhesive behind. More expensive and harder to find, it's designed for gaffers — the folks who tape down cables on a stage or film/video set.
