Don’t these apply to any relationship, romantic or otherwise?

Childcare costs drive down female participation in the workforce. My wife is a skilled chef. Were she to work, we would literally be paying for her to work. And that’s only comparing her likely take-home salary to the cost of childcare.

I keep hoping the ghost of Teddy Roosevelt will rise from the grave and bash the heads of these republicans in with a big stick.

Except fetuses, cops, guns and rich white guys.

At Easter, my step dad actually quoted the Art of the Deal to me, and told me I should read it because it had good advice like, “always make your most outrageous demand at the beginning of the negotiation!”

From TNR:

Does she mean fasting? Because as I understand it on a hunger strike you are prepared to die for your cause, not quit eating for a few days.

Yeah. Or someone saying that we are stooping to their level. Trump and his ilk would have to dramatically improve to come up to the level of people taking shits on a person’s Hollywood star.

Here’s any easy fix:

Or the “You’re playing into their hands!” crowd, you know, because not playing into their hands has been so effective. Or, you know, as if we should fucking care, anymore, about what they think of us since they think that about us, anyway.

That star should be vandalized just because it was awarded for such a stupid reason, let alone because Trump is a treasonous, ignorant, idiotic, racist narcissistic, tax-evading, war-mongering piece of trash sexual predator.

I’m opposed to vandalism and violence, but I believe this fits into the same category as “Always punch a Nazi.” 🌟🔨

Good for you, but I think you could have been “different” in another way, too, depending on when you took your leave. Even a progressive woman knows there’s a difference between a father being home in the early days and a mother being home in the early days - maternity leave is not simply about bonding and family

If we had to rank most useless professions, people that talk and/or write about sports for a living have to be in the top 5 right?

Yeah I could see the wife wanting to deal with only one baby at a time

There once was a man from Nantucket
His child was born he said ‘Fuck it’
Back to work he would roam the wife back at home
Spewing hot takes til his ass kicks the bucket

You know what nobody’s said on their deathbed? “I wish I’d worked more.”

To be fair the wife and kid probably wanted him to go back to work. I mean could you imagine spending more that a day with that guy?

Capitalism really does a number on some people.

I took 3 months of unpaid paternity leave when my son was born in 2007, and it was probably the most important 3 months of my life.
