Something her Mom already knew and tried to communicate to her. I loved the depiction of the Amazons (except for the sub-par CGI) from the reluctance to train Diana to the depiction of the “Elder” Amazons as middle-aged (wrinkles and scars! awesome!) instead of trying to cast all 20-somethings and just implying that

Man of Steel had that whole sequence where he ditches his fishing boat to go save people from the burning oil derrick. It is somewhat muddled because it’s in a sequence and he goes back to hiding afterward, but it is his first heroic act after saving the bus of kids way back when. It leads Lois to him.

The part that hit me the hardest was after the climactic battle all the “bad guys” take off their scary gas masks and they’re just a bunch of terrified young boys.

She knows from the beginning that her purpose in life is to make the world better, and she doesn’t spend any time angsting over what that means. She just sees a problem and goes to solve it.

Exactly. She’s a warrior but she doesn’t live for battle. She is the living embodiment of “Speak softly and carry a big stick.”

Jenkins showed that war isn’t glorious and fun.

That’s one of my favorite scenes not just because of Diana but because of the reaction from the soldiers. There was no, “Oh, no, a woman on the field! How could she be taking all those bullets!?” on their part. And there was no, “This may be “No Man’s Land” but I am NO MAN!” on Diana part. It was a straight up battle

I saw the music as growing with her, so the first time she fights there are hints of the theme and then the full theme comes when she fully realizes her powers.

The response should be a significant vindication for Jenkins and will just help immensely when she faces other creative battles down the line.

I am curious if this meeting was before or after Geoff Johns was part of the Executive leadership group. I can’t see him not understanding the point of the scene.

Patty Jenkins be walking into the Warner Bros boardroom like

“Enemies to the South” is Dorne. Pretty sure Yara is making out with Ellaria or a Sand Snake.

This is probably the closest we’ll get to a Wolverine appearance in Mario Kart 8.

The two biggest reasons I’m excited for this is because, unlike the other CW shows this is not an “origin story”, and because he’s not a teen-twentysomething coming to terms with his power.

Okay. Love the way it’s presented and I love him. I don’t even care that it’s not in the Arrowverse and they’re swearing no crossovers (yeah, right). But that costume sucks! Hopefully there’ll be a redesign once it goes to series. And if they’re going to use The 100, please, please, please give me Rose & Thorn!

FYI

Truly amazing. We need to keep launching probes with 4k HDR cameras and send them out all over the solar system. Can’t get enough of this. It’s like being there.

Obviously it is powering up for an energy blast. Does anyone know what it’s pointing at? It’s not us, right?

I love how the trailer juxtaposes Jon, Cersei, and Daenerys as equals, then brushes them all aside with a glimpse of the REAL threat. I feel like that’s where this whole series is leading anyway. Their ambitions, no matter how valid the claim, are but petty politics in view of what’s coming.

Must be awkward at family meals, the other Whedons running SHIELD while he sits on the other side running Batgirl.
