Both, but if I had to pick one, Persona 5. While the FF series started to languish, Persona popped out of the shadows and into the mainstream, destroying my predictions that (as of 2007) traditional turn-based JRPGs were dead. Don’t get me wrong, FFXV looks great but for completely different reasons.

Him and Itabashi have to be the two best Zangief players in the world. I love watching Snake Eyez and seeing how incredibly patient he is in every match. My favorite match had to be him against Xian at Evo, that final match at 7:20 is still one of my favorite Evo moments.
