BRAVO

I have had to look away a couple of times because spiders. Ugh.

I've heard from some that he was going to get a big dish of beef chow mein.

He said in one of the earlier episodes "You're the daughter I deserved" …

That line actually reminded me of the writer Jeanette Winterson's terrific memoir, Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?

Heh, and here I was worried about missing the beginning of the episode because Mister Modern Dog decided he wanted to grill some zucchini spears along with the chicken.

I thought he totally meant Vanessa. Mostly due to that whole affair thing, but also because … as much of a bastard as he'd been about being willing to sacrifice her life for Mina's, he had actually come to think of her as his daughter. (the daughter he wishes he had had?).

Well said. In past episodes, I did agree with commenters who were saying "GET RID OF HIM HE'S KILLING ALL THE INTERESTING CHARACTERS."

A grade of B? This episode was a solid A for me. Sir Malcolm kills his child, yet Victor cannot. Questions of the sacred and the profane ("they" all died at that Welsh exorcism, the priest says, and yet what is he doing here?). Who is Ethan's father? The scene reflected in the mirror when Brona dies, like a tiny

Argh, I totally missed that! Pfui.

I remember the Devil as Sir Malcolm … I don't know, for some reason it just didn't click in this scene that it was the Devil as Ethan. Hm.

Wait, so Ethan wasn't the King of Hell? That was just an … apparition, wearing an Ethan suit? That was confusing.

Not me. I loved this episode, and as far as I'm concerned the showrunners can stall the narrative momentum any time they want.

I'm with the reviewer — it felt as though the episode ended way too soon, when it was just getting going. Loved the introduction to the theatre, though. Alun Armstrong was terrific in what was essentially a valentine to the world of 1890s melodrama, where everyone lives again every night.

I am loving it so far, on both counts. :)

Add me to the "wtf" and "holy fucking shit" crowd. It's been a long, long time since I've been truly surprised by a television show. I was on the edge of my seat tonight. Wow.

Mossad. She was a Mossad agent. Not Assad.

The episode "Baggage," during season six and written by Doris Egan, also went this route, with House as the unreliable narrator and his version of events with Wilson, Cuddy, and others appearing to take place as in a stage play. It's not an episode that gets mentioned often, but I've always thought it was in the top

Heh. It does, and now I want to forget her again. I had to check IMDB to remember that she was the prison doctor in "Twenty Vicodin." I did prefer her to Amber Tamblyn, though, which isn't saying much.

Odette Annable, as Dr. Jessica Adams. I think Doctor Pretty Doctor works very well in this case. I watched the show fairly faithfully and can't remember anything about her.
