I agree, I think it’s idiotic. But where I live, it’s only very very recently that PANTS have become acceptable for women in my profession (and in some areas and offices, they still aren’t), so while there is progress, it’s going to be slow.

I didn’t word that very well. I should have just said in my profession heels are required, there are plenty of professions in which having reasonable footwear is acceptable!

It’s basically the same theory. You have to dress like you belong and you’re a member of the club. Clubs have different dress codes.

I really wish heels weren’t necessary to look professional as a woman. In my field, it’s just required, and it blows because heels are the WORST.

I actually felt pretty sorry for her with the first marriage. She was so young when they got married and he clearly has some extremely serious substance abuse problems, which can’t be easy to deal with.
