I feel like a lot of that is just summed up in that one Nirvana hit that goes… "He's the one who likes all our pretty songs and he likes to sing along and he knows not what it means…" That's pretty much how the same people go from listening to Nirvana and Soundgarden to Korn and Limp Bizkit. To put it another way,

I think Korn had to have been influenced by Soundgarden and this album in particular. Limp Biskit tho? Yeah, not so much.

Psycho is actually one of the very few films I can think of where I really wish there was some way I could have seen it without knowing anything about it other than "directed by Alfred Hitchcock." Because really, it's not the ending that deserves to not be spoiled; it's the 90 degree turn the plot takes about fifteen

And this, I think, is a fairly decent argument in favor of spoilers. Sometimes knowing how poorly a work ends is a good way to prepare yourself, or even to be able to ask yourself if it's worth it.

I've actually read people complain when certain shots or scenes (as in how the scene was filmed) was spoiled for them because a review discussed it. So no, spoiler-phobes don't necessarily only care about plot, but the alternative is actually worse and not better.

They were able to write about those things without people crying over "spoilers" specifically because there wasn't as many people who viewed knowing ANYTHING as a spoiler. But it's because we're at that place now where saying "Bart's father, Homer Simpson" is considered by some to ruin the enjoyment of watching the

And yet, I knew the ending to the Sixth Sense and enjoyed the hell out of the film anyway. And the only person I could hold accountable for knowing what the ending was was myself. I think personal accountability is much more important than going out of your way to read about something and then bemoaning the fact that

It's just a bit ridiculous to read an article about something and expect the article to only talk about that something in the most general of terms. But if you look at the comments on a lot of these types of articles you'll see people crying and moaning over the dumbest things because they're "spoilers." If knowing

You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college!

I can't really imagine it but I will say that there are some truly great episodes in that first season. Not as good as what the show would become in terms of animation or the voice acting but the writing was definitely there.

He'll start a war! Start a nuclear war! As the mayor of Gaytown! Gaytown! Gaytown!

I don't think that's a very sane reaction to a film review. As much as you might loathe the director for his crimes, this isn't exactly a film that a site like the AV Club could just ignore, considering it's a major release being distributed by a renowned company. Do you get upset whenever R. Kelly's latest album gets

Erotic City or Delirious.

I don't think anyone is saying that, but the impact that Star Wars had on film, culture, merchandizing… we even had a president who couched some of his worst policies in the vernacular of Star Wars. Those films' impact can't be overstated.

I don't think this "issue" is in everything, and in fact I'd say a good 90% of mainstream entertainment doesn't feature homosexual characters at all. Unless you go out looking for "gay entertainment" you aren't likely to see gay characters. There's a gay character in How To Train Your Dragon (or whatever it's called)

Out of context, but I love your avatar. That game is awesome! I still need to play Lack-of-Love but I've yet to get my hands on a copy. XD

You're seriously stretching here. The AVClub actually had a "Good Job, Internet" article awhile ago about a guy that took to re-editing the first two Star Wars films (I think it was just the first two) in order to reverse all of the changes Lucas made and upgrade the film to HD quality. It took him several years to do

It's not that difficult to hear the original Suicidal Tendencies album, but it's been out of print for the last ten+ years. They even took to re-recording it because they don't own or have access to the masters. So it was nice of them to do that even tho honestly their remake of it is pretty lousy (and how could it

You can see it on an out-of-print DVD set in a poor transfer from the laser disc. If the only version readily available of a b&w film was colorized, I think I'd be just as upset about it. Particularly if the film was of as much historical importance as the original Star Wars trilogy is.

It's personal because for many of us, we lived through the cultural impact that the film had on the culture at large. Seriously, it sucks that it's difficult to even watch a poor-quality transfer of this film any more (you have to track down one of the DVD sets, make sure you know which one, and try to enjoy the film
