^ The right answer.

That’s how they all win. If it weren’t for BOP, the Vettes wouldn’t have a chance against the Ford GT, which is a car basically built for this race. Neither would anyone else. I agree that the system is awkward, but it is designed to allow different cars from different makes to race together.

Anyway, it’s clearly

It’s really David vs. Goliath, with Aston vs. car companies many times the size. They have worked their asses off for this and deserve the win.

I agree. All sports car fans should be thrilled that Aston won. Neither GM, Ford, Ferrari, or Porsche really needs another Le Mans win to sell cars. Aston has been betting the farm on a win to keep the brand alive.

BOP always gets pulled out as sour grapes whenever someone’s preferred make doesn’t win. BOP is the game, and they all have to play it. Aston has gotten hard knocks in previous years - and last year was basically a setup for Ford. They deserve this.

The neverending beige comments are far more boring than the cars Toyota makes.

It also looks like they are cutting Aston a little bit of slack in BOP this year.

I agree with driving them all. The numbers completely go away when it comes to things like driving style, your fit in the cabin, and the sound.

Can’t believe how many people didn’t get this. I saw that and thought it would be COTD for sure.

Same recommendation is common for STIs.

Nicely done.

Honestly, I wouldn’t bother with the driveshaft if I were doing it again. The driveshaft has slightly less lash, but it’s not really worth ~1K. And I’m not impoverished; it just was a bit underwhelming.

As long as you have a Porsche keychain for that key, you’re all good.

I agree with you on the turbo cars, but I think the NA GT cars sound amazing. And I never used to be a Porsche fan. At the IMSA races, I think the Porsches are one of the best sounds on track.

I don’t think they were trying to set a fast lap. There was one shot where they were clearly weaving back and forth. Either warming up tires or checking out transition dynamics.

Drifting IRL is hard in a racecar, especially at high speed. There is a reason they have loads of bloopers of the folks on Top Gear looping it. Chris Harris just happens to have a ton of practice to make it look easy.

And that right there is the problem.

Thanks! I did rotors and pads for the track, plus lightweight pulley and a carbon fiber driveshaft. The latter two really improve driveability.

Actually got off the internet Sunday morning and went for a nice drive.

Good question :)
