I did know about it. I know all airlines I’ve ever used have them. Cancelling was out of my hands. These things happen all the time. And being 2 months in advance IS outrageous. If you book a hotel you have up until 24 hours in advance to cancel. It’s the same type of thing.

Easier said than done. I had to cancel a flight due to unforeseen circumstances. It was still 2 months in advance, but got charged a $180 fee.

This advice only applies to automatic trannies so yes it is different. It’s the opposite advice actually for manual trannies. With a manual you’ll wear on the throwout bearing as it presses against the diaphram if you hold down the clutch while at a stop and keep it in drive. Best to switch to neutral.
