Yes. Life hacker had a great article on the subject recently: http://lifehacker.com/5920627/now-is-a-great-time-to-buy-an-ssd

#corrections does absolutely nothing in the new commenting system, so its totally pointless now.

While this is a pretty silly idea for opening a can of tuna, I've used this technique before on an empty soda can, rub the bottom on concrete, to make secret compartment cans. I'm sure there was probably a better way, but, it worked pretty well ont he thin aluminum cans.

You should be able to just do an upgrade as long as you are on 10.6.8.

Yes, that's all you need to know. But a quick google search of GeForce 8600m GT and mountain line seems to say that it will in fact install on your computer: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19021148#19021148

I've had a western digital live, an apple tv, and a roku hd, and the apple tv is the one I kept. With a simple hack it becomes just as useful, if not more so, with airplay and mirroring and whatnot than the other two. Roku is definitely the one I liked the least, and the WD was awesome, and is perfect for most people.

Don't have anything to add, just that the graphic for this story is perfect.

What matters is the graphics card. If you go to about this mac, and then select more info, and then go to graphics. The text there should tell you if your graphics card is 32bit or 64bit. If its 64, then you are good.

You mean like the sideboards. Most of the sites have a few, but they all seem to have a sort of main one. The ones I can remember are whitenoise for gizmodo, and crosstalk for gawker, and observationdeck for io9.

It doesn't perform well. It gets the job done. But the computer is basically useless while mirroring since it uses ALL of its resources to get the job done.

Nice. Though to be honest, if there was just a regular wall behind, I would have left out the ikea provided backs so as to not have those folded seam-lines. I also think it would look great with solid doors along the bottom. But the doors for the billys add tons of extra cost.

This break your brain stuff is just the kind of thing that I LOVE!!! Also, Emily Dickinson was the shit.

The Samsung Exhibit 4g is a pretty decent phone for 200 bucks no contract. Its probably cheaper at walmart, and tmobile was just having a sale on them the other day that included 50 dollar tmobile minutes card.

Aww thanks, but I don't want your dogs any where near me.

Checking out ebooks from the library is almost the best! If it wasn't for the crappy ass thing that is overdrive. How I wish I could use a different app. As it is I only check out kindle books from the library, but the selection is much smaller.

There are actually tons of apps that do just this.

Its awful. Turn it off please.

You'll still use them for a long time to come, I assure you. My little brother is still perfectly content with my old ibook g4. As long as there is a browser to get him to facebook, itunes for his music, and a word processor he's pretty happy.

It would be better if the event pages themselves were actually useful too. The event image can't just be clicked and enlarged. The event text is not formattable to emphasize important information. It be nice too if people could like a public event.

There is nothing in mountain lion that is at all compelling though. You'll still be able to do almost everything on the 2006 MacBook. Which you are right, is pretty amazing.
