I wouldn’t blame anyone for choosing to stay in the closet, even now. It’s so much better than it was, but there are a lot of places where it remains unsafe to live your life out of the closet. There’s still so much work to do.

I loved her performance, too. Lots of criticism of her being monotone and bland, but I kinda thought that was more realistic, given the numbness she was portraying.

Alas, I agree. But I blame Ritter’s performance on that. For being the lead actor, she was the least interesting in the entire show. She felt like the generic angry girl with the horribly scarred past. (Only this one had a slight twist. She had superpowers.) A bit stiff for someone who is supposed to be a New Yorker.…
