For me, the most interesting thing about the show wasn’t relevant to anyone else. I happened to watch the premiere right after I had re-watched Larry David’s ‘standup special’ that led to Curb Your Enthusiasm.  Suzy Nakamura was in both, over 20 years apart, and didn’t look like she had aged a day.

Comedy needs an injection of on-the-spot, silliness and improv.  Standup has drifted towards Ted Talks and sessions with the shrink and podcasts have been carrying the weight of our national banter imperative.  Hope it retains the sense of danger and mayhem and doesn’t get CBSified.
