I get that's it's necessary to critique public figures, their work, and make meaningful comments on these things through a feminist and intersectional lens, but the level of shit-slinging Jez commenters have participated in over Lena Dunham is upsetting. We're far beyond reasonable criticism here.

That's interesting — my parents visited Atlanta shortly after one of the state prisons was closed and I believe there's some tunnel / underground market that became overrun with patients who were dumped.

Most of the parents I talk to are boomers, who share similar values and beliefs, including thoughts on how parents should be treated.

This, this, this.
A former boss's wife taught at hair college so I asked her what my boyfriend could do about his chronic dandruff. I have NEVER seen someone so passionate about this before. She was like, "TELL HIM TO PUT DOWN THE HEAD AND SHOULDERS AND WASH HIS HAIR LESS."
Problem = solved.

Definitely laughed out loud at this headline. Anytime I have a week off from school (or four weeks, WTF holidays) I am THE GROSSEST #StinkyWhiteGirl

That's interesting to me — What I always thought was good about SA is that you can set your terms in the beginning. Both parties are up front about their expectations. But now that I'm imagining myself in that situation, I would be shit at advocating for myself with collecting, or saying "no, this isn't what we

For the most part, a lot of stuff here is more expensive, particularly fast food and then the more obvious stuff like alcohol, gas, and tobacco.
But it's a pretty sweet gig re: healthcare, marriage equality, poutine, etc.
If you really want to gasp at food costs, google "Nunavut food prices" in the image search.

Is anyone else getting some serious Nickelback vibes from that mugshot?

Ughh, that must be ESPECIALLY annoying for you. I'm so sorry. I just constantly felt like our marketing team had no clue how to do outlets. All the materials were so misleading that people were constantly marching up to us, pissed off about boxers that were in a box marked "up to 50% off" and were only 25% off.

Thank

Oh, sweet jesus. I worked in an outlet. This was the bane of my existence. We had a gigantic sign on the side of our building said UP TO 70% OFF. I would love to egg the car of the person who thought that would be a great idea.

This was my experience, too. When I worked in a skate shop in a mall where a Vans store was due to open, the Vans managers kept popping in and chatting up part-timers.

I loved this piece, but Toronto's missed connections as entertainment are ruined for me forever :/

My android ' s photo editing app that comes with the phone has an awfully obvious airbrush feature that looks exactly like this

I'm sorry to hear that! Old photos are truly invaluable. I'm fortunate that my paternal line is meticulously traced with photos going back about four generations but no such luck on my mom's side. I'm from a rural Canadian province that was settled much later, so cameras were a luxury that were hard to come by :(

The family tree hobbyist in me is frothing at the mouth at the idea that she had all these photos! JEALOUS.

Is it just me, or is this oddly satisfying in a "popping your own pimples" kind of way?

This reminds me of an editorial I read in Deadspin a few months back about the Ray and Janay Rice situation by a reporter on the crime beat. She said that in her experience, the method of researching news stories on domestic violence is often the same, because the pattern of domestic violence is often the same:
"First,

This makes me sad. Despite how shitty of a person Jian is, it's because of Q that I heard about Caitlin Moran in the first place, and I've re-watched her two appearances on the show several times.

This has given me a lot to think about, so thank you!

I'd be interested in seeing their rates / stats of successful matches. Don't get me wrong, physical attributes play such a huge part of our snap judgments and also our attraction, but two hot partners doesn't guarantee bliss. Really beautiful wedding photos, maybe!
