Comment of the day, hands down.
Literally came to the comments to say just that!
I've only heard this reference in passing and never really understood what it meant until I read this. So thank you! I love identifying tropes.
Also, I had a realization while reading this on the train that a solid 40% of the guys I dated projected the MPDG idea onto me. Another 40% projected Manic Pixie Dream Girl…
Ouuuu, this looks like an interesting/entertaining/good for procrastinating website.
Many thanks for sharing!
And paleness! Pale skin was considered to be en vogue because it meant you didn't work outside. We're such silly, silly humans.
Agreed. Also, male models tend to have very feminine facial features.
This reminds me of my experience with interviewing a woman who worked at a rape crisis/domestic violence centre. She said that she was worried when they got less calls or the stats were lower because silence didn't equal safety.
Some people do because it's cheaper. My good, sane, non-homicidal parents took one out for me when I was very young.
This hit me right in the feels. My parents started a small business a year or two before I was born so they weren't around as much as other families I grew up with. They worked until 10 at night so they only made it to a few school events and I wasn't involved in many extracurriculars. I was really angsty and…
I grew up in a small town inSK, and the culture definitely begins flourishing when they're kids, preteens, or teens. I think for some, that attitude gets carried over to the college teams .
For people who are already smokers, yes. If I had a 9 a.m. deadline for a news story, I was guzzling coffee andchain smoking on my deck all night.
From what I understand, they bit off more than they could chew with TS3 in terms of graphics and whatever. I don't speak techie dialect, so forgive this stupidly simple language, but I think the game was just too big. I think they're trimming the base game down this time around.
This is super not related, but I wanted to ask a discussion question I've been thinking about a lot this morning. If we lived in a world where gender does not exist (people have their anatomical "parts" but do not perform gender roles,) do you think transgender dysphoria would exist?
With a purple streak, yeah!!
Oh, interesting! Thanks for the info! :)
Also, the duty :(
Scripts are sold like freelance articles, I think. Production houses buy those scripts up like crazy and a lot of them never become movies. Once you sell your script, I'm fairly certain it's no longer yours as far as decisions go. I think it's the same process for when a book is optioned for a movie.
Holding in my "OHH lil baby puppy!" squeals. (I'm on the train)
Also, my lurking now has a professional use as a PR intern. I'm the tech-saavy Nancy Drew. The advanced Google search is my magnifying glass.
