If your launcher supports activity shortcuts (most do) you can add a screen button that will switch you back to your last app. If you put this on the dock, you can easily toggle between any app and your home screen with two clicks (the home button, then the Last App shortcut.

Wonder if this will work with any Windows executable. I have my HDTV hooked to an HTPC and need something like this for Windows Media Center, XBMC and Chrome shortcuts. Will test it later.

I have been wearing an Omate TrueSmart for about 6 months now. Yeah, at first iwas just a novelty, but now I'm finding it taking over more and more simple tasks that I used to do on my phone.... the same way that a few years ago my phone started taking over some roles that my PC/Laptop was for.
