I just did a 900 mile road trip in our 2014 Outback 2.5L. Averaged 30 mpg and usually had it between 65-75 in cruise control. This included having a folding bike rack on the back attached to a trailer hitch on the way back (although no bicycles).

I'd choose the Gamecube version, if only because it's easier to hook up a component video cable to most modern TVs than it is to convert a Dreamcast to VGA. (I had an S-Video cable for it, but nothing takes S-Video these days.)
