I remember those skinny bicycle wheels! They were used to set up the suspension before putting on the race wheels and tires, also for transport if I remember correctly. Agreed about the 126 C2, twin turbo V-6 and the illegal staggered wing it had at the race. . . Also got Niki Lauda’s autograph at the podium after he

Ha ha, you and me both! I got a great shot of him in front of the 126C2 with the bodywork up and the light was reflecting off the aluminum on his face making it glow. . . Didn’t realize who prophetic that would be until a month later at Belgium. . . Lost that pic years ago unfortunately...

I met Denise once, great lady, I’m sure she had many stories to tell!

Met the man once, would certainly make a good drinking partner!

Met Gilles at 82 Long Beach GP, wish I could have spent more time with him, from what I’ve heard he was a great human being.

That’s easy: Jackie Stewart, met the man once, funny as hell, I can only imagine what he’s like with a few drinks in him and the tales he could tell.

Turns out the US was scheduled to attend but the Ukraine situation put an end to that. . .

Well, the invitation’s been extended, I don’t know if there’s that much that would be exposed as far as capabilities with various intelligence agencies skulking about over the years. I would imagine security around a US tank in Russia would be pretty tight, just as it was when Russians were visiting the US with their

I have had this Rosewill toaster oven for three years now, kind of skeptical about the low price but thought I would give it a shot and so glad I purchased this instead of the more expensive options out there. Does it all, toasts, bakes, etc. I’ve even cooked whole chickens in this thing and it’s done well with the

Michelle Mouton’s car. Buffum purchased that car and brought it to the US to race. The first time he raced it his finish time was miles and minutes ahead of anyone else.

I think you’ll do fine. Years back I read an anecdote of a black woman on a street car in Tokyo. She overheard a japanese mother telling her son in Japanese that black people have tails. The black woman turned and replied in perfect Japanese that they did not. The Japanese woman who uttered the comment to her son then

I agree, really great guide. I used to live in Yokohama as a child (military brat) and lived in Negishi Heights at the off base family housing there. I was able to roam the neighborhoods as a young boy, met a lot of the locals including their sons who I befriended and played with on a regular basis.

When I hear John Buffum say he’s never done a handbrake turn before it’s more like ‘Shurrrrrrrrreeee I’ve never done a handbrake turn before, shhhurrrreeee I haven’t’....

I would have liked to see what he could have done without all the sun glare on an overcast day... Would have been one for the record books I’m sure.

Great Googley Boogley dem’s some sweet sounds!

They should have turned the weiner around to face the other direction, it’s like they’re afraid to show their hot dog proudly. . .

I would think the weight of the cat would make for a bulge in the wing not easily missed. Just my two cents.

And don’t forget the indented headlining to fit the owners huge ego inflated head... Bentley’s on top of it! What about all the other manufacturers? I’m lookin’ at you Rolls Royce!

I just dropped the sport entirely, overhearing other conversations among members made it seem like something fairly common. Happened years ago, perhaps things have changed, don’t care to re-visit it. Kudos to those who stop these people from participating if not turning them over to law enforcement. I’m a motorsports

In my experiences with TSD they most certainly do not stay within the speed limit. If for some reason they miss a turn or are misled by an instruction (deliberately by the organizers) they would have to speed to make up time, sometimes in triple digits on country roads.
