@Odin: I don't even use a trackpad: I've been using a trackpoint for the past 3 years on my ThinkPad. In my opinion, it offers the best navigational experience on a laptop bar none.

@gstatty: I'd imagine Woz would be Satan (fallen angel etc.)

@c_cornelp: Glad to know the iPad decision worked out for you. I really like my Nexus One (now with sweet sweet Froyo), so my decision to not try it before buying it surprisingly worked out quite well for me. I'm considering picking up a second gen iPad as well, will have to make my decision when it comes out.

@c_cornelp: Actually, I'd love to say that I would, but I did spend over $500 on a Nexus One without even using Android for an appreciable amount of time. I did read the reviews though!

@c_cornelp: Sure, but at $35, I wouldn't feel as much buyer remorse from purchasing this tablet as I would with a $500 tablet. It's definitely worth a shot at that price point, even if it might suck.

@iScrewFanbois: Hmm, I think I will. Thanks for the heads up!

@Benedinho: Maybe so, but an iPad that's marked up an additional 50% (even with the so-called Apple tax) is ludicrous.

Now I can buy a cheap tablet locally without having to pay a 50% markup for an iPad. Thanks, Indian government! At least you're getting some things right!

Now playing

Finally, Borat can practice with a machine instead!

@badasscat: I'm not so sure I agree with you about Lenovo trying to tear the ThinkPad brand down. I've owned a T61 for the past 3 years, and it's probably the best laptop I've owned. The build quality is great, it was fairly reasonably priced after a student discount and Lenovo's after-sales service has always been

Playing through Darksiders, Mario Galaxy 2 (green star challenge), and NMH 2. I've also started playing Professor Layton and Pandora's Box on my way to/from work.

@ddhboy: Actually, J&R charged $649 for the phone before the announcement too.

@Canon7D-Fanboy: True, but considering that ~40% still use Android 2.0 and lower, it's still not great news for the anti-fragmentation brigade.

@mendo: Thanks for the suggestion. I already have the PC version of the Secret of Monkey Island. It was great, but I think the iPad might be a better way to experience some of LucasArts' classic adventure games. Besides, I've already played 1 and 2 on a PC before and would like to experience the game in a different

@Accelerata: According to an article I read a while back in the NYTimes (I think it was posted on Gizmodo), the wireless signal that's used to send a text message and the signal used to initiate a phone call are one and the same. So yes, it definitely costs them less than 10 cents. Also, this is why a single text

@MJDeviant: Once you get an update to Froyo (I'm not sure if you guys have it already), you might want to use additional data for wireless tethering. Given the way AT&T has structured its new plans, you would have to pay extra for that.

Man, I really want to buy an iPad now! Monkey Island 1 and 2 were the first games I played and loved on my PC back in the day (I remember buying Monkey Island 2 on 5 1.44" floppy disks). I was waiting for the second gen iPad to come out, but this makes things a bit trickier.
