This would be a pretty sweet deal at $20, especially while travelling.

@tyler.derden: You can speak to customer service and ask them to reverse the price difference. I did it when Amazon had an offer on the PS3 in 2007 a week after I bought it, saved myself about $75 in the process.

Wow, I'd been looking for something like this for a really long time. I tried playing a few files on my N1, it's been working really well so far. Thanks a lot for the tip, Kevin!

@animeman59: Beautiful post. Thanks for sharing, it made me get a bit choked up at work.

@☆Giroro G66☆: More like 7-8 if you include the Xbox 360, but point taken.

@☆Giroro G66☆: Sure, there is a possibility that any of the three might jump the gun and release new hardware soon. However, given that Sony released a console redesign within the last year and MS released one on Friday (and Nintendo has only released one additional colour for the Wii), and both HD consoles are

Matt, it's a bit premature to say that Sony has lost the overall videogame hardware race in the middle of a 10 year console cycle. Until recently, the 360 had numerous hardware problems; the Wii is well-built, but relatively underpowered compared to its competitors. Sony's emphasis on hardware and functionality

@mrgibblechip: Or you could get a smartphone and use Google, haha.

Just installed it on my N1 (I was having trouble installing it the first few times I tried). It works really well even after using it for an hour or two. I can't wait to see my typing speed after a few days of practice. Any idea on when Swype plans to release the full app?

Glad to hear that you enjoyed Kinect so much, Mark. It looks quite interesting (especially the multiplayer aspect), but I'm not sure how much time I'd like to spend playing "traditional" games on Kinect. The continuous motion and constant standing that Stephen Totilo talked about on Kotaku makes me a little wary

@something something darkside: Is the new version free or paid? I ask not because I'm cheap (well, I am, but that's another story), but because I'm using a Froyo'd N1 in a country which doesn't have paid Android Market apps.

@DDigital: Thanks for the advice!

@Benguin: Yup, I agree. At first, I was underwhelmed, but once I got a closer look at the style in the post-demo trailer, I was sold.

Damn, I wish I were going to Wimbledon this year (not just to check out the app, but for the actual tennis as well). There's always next year, I suppose!

I think MS needs to launch Kinect at $99 for it to succeed against the Wii. $149 is a bit too much in my opinion; $50 dollars more buys you a shiny black Wii (only with one remote though), Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

Do you think it's better to pick this up now at Target for $149 (and a $30 gift card) or wait for the refreshed $199 Arcade? I already have a PS3 and Wii for my primary gaming needs, I just want to pick up a 360 to catch up on some of the exclusive titles I've missed out on over the years.

@kev873: Short-term sales burst at best for June and July. 360 sales should be back to their normal levels in August.

For all those who've used the iPad and iPhone/Android Google Earth apps, what exactly is the difference between the two (other than having a much bigger screen to spin the planet around with)?

@Dimipapa: The Uncharted franchise says hi.
