As long as Jim Hackett is in charge, they never will.

Because, sadly, FoST and FiST drivers aren’t enough to make up for all the regular people not buying Focus and Fiesta Titanium hatchbacks/sedans. A lot of that has to do with that horrible transmission, followed by not really updating either model from 2011 (Fiesta) or 2012 (Focus) until now.
Imagine the blast radius of this thing at a C&C meet.
“the largest
kidney grillbutt cheeks ever designed for a BMW model.”
Rolling doesn’t worry me in the least.
Reason #2: WTF? Anytime I play around with online configurators, I’m always disappointed by the lack of customisation. If I want a sunroof or a nice stereo, it’s always bundled with sat-nav and massage seats and a bunch of other crap I don’t want. Interiors are limited to black, grey, and maybe beige. Wheel choices…
It’s 1 mpg better in the city than the 2.7L V6 from Ford. And 1 mpg worse on the highway. With less power. So... were they thinking it was going to be better and then they just totally failed but it was too late to start over?
Bitching on Jalopnik isn’t fighting anything.
3rd, Neutral: Taking all this into consideration, which brands are still interested in coming to the US? Here’s where I see things:
You will fight them by whining about them on Jalopnik? Why, you’re virtually guaranteed to win!
Dude. We get it. You hate crossovers. Now relax.
Well, Ford is right, though. My ‘08 Taurus (SEDAN, thank you) is easy as heck to get in and out of, I have the seat height set where I actually feel like I’m sitting in a comfortable chair, and I still have headroom and great visibility all around because this was before they made the side profile swoopy and the trunk…
Neutral: Fuel Economy Regulations. What’s Reasonable?
I would say so.
Have you seen the GTR, Cube, Juke, Murano convertible, FX? All are fairly interesting for their segments. Still no idea how the middle 3 were ever approved for the US.
The other thing to consider is it seems that Toyota generally put more effort into...everything. Nissan makes some serious bottom-barrel cars as it is (in comparison to Honda, Toyota, Hyundai), so rebadging a pile of trash as a fancy pile of trash doesn’t really change that. I feel like infiniti, and Nissan in general…
This is still my favorite off road comparison of a BMW product to a Ranger Rover.
This will sell well, as expected. But on that “crystal shifter”. Damn that looks cheap in their attempt to Out-Volvo Volvo
I hate the flared nostril kidneys.
