The comments here are kind of harsh. We were all dumb rich kids once. Who among us hasn’t totaled two exotics worth half a million dollars, fled the scene of the accident, left our passport behind in the wreckage, and had the entire incident captured on two different videos only to have them both uploaded to…

Seems like you’ve completely missed the point of HUDs.
But my opinion, which is shared by exactly none of my colleagues, is that HUDs are more harmful than helpful.
you are woefully underestimating the number of people who use navigation and GPS while driving.
So what you are saying is a van got slammed into by an out of control Honda and autonomous controls had nothing to do with the wreck. So I guess Jalopnik is just reporting on local accidents now. Ok, got it.
Here’s all you need to know. Great first and second row seating, third row seating is dog shit, and makes the cargo room with the third row up even worse dog shit. You can pick between carrying cargo or 5+ people. That’s it. Pick one because you don’t get to do both. This is where the Expedition interior packaging is…
XLT? Isn’t that a Ford trim?
No, these things are pretty awesome. It can haul kids, dressers, Labradors and ass.
Is it bad that I want one? If I can only have one vehicle (because I live in the city and parking is a PITA, for example) and I have the need for a large vehicle (kids, pets, back issues, etc), I don’t see why having a fun, sporty CUV/SUV is a bad idea.
Lane assist on Subaru’s Eyesight system works fine, just turn it off on the twisties or it will fight you. It doesn’t allow you to fall asleep at the wheel. The cruise control is excellent. The emergency braking should be required on every new vehicle.
I have only found one actual youtube video where the car is driven outside of a 30 mph zone, Forrest something or other, and one written review which really didn’t delve into it too much. The gist was, it’s a wave of torque off idle, but it is NOT sporty. It’s just not slow anymore.
on topic: I agree with you. These systems shouldn’t be in consumer vehicles until they are ready for prime time.
