I have a family member who owns a Subaru Outback with the EyeSight system. They haven’t complained about any false braking situations, but have told me it does work properly. They were backing out of their garage when their dog ran behind the car and the vehicle hit the brakes on its own. They also said the adaptive

Oh my, I had one of those Super Spin Car Washes! Mine was a bit different colors but same thing as that box shows otherwise.

What seems interesting about the hatchback thing is that the current generation Focus seems to sell very well in hatchback form.nI’m okay with that because I personally think it looks better than the sedan. But you’re right, there just aren’t that many hatches on the roads...

They all got perfect crash safety ratings (so far at least, I don’t know if any were tested for passenger side small overlap protection), but the newer models (S90, XC90) don’t have good enough headlights to qualify for TSP or TSP+ sadly. That being said, I’d still feel much more protected in a wider range of crashes

IIHS did not find their headlights good enough. Also, during the small overlap test on the Driver’s side, the seatbelt let the dummy move too far forward so it increased risk of injury...

To be honest, I don’t even understand this design theme to begin with. Personally, I still see all the pillars and the roof is most certainly not floating in my eyes. If it were actual glass instead of a piece of cheap gloss black plastic, then maybe it would look more floaty? That said, I don’t feel like the Ford

How is the interior quality (materials, sound system) compared to its bigger sibling, the XC60? Is it at least notably better than a vehicle such as those in the Escape/CRV realm?

This meme gets me everytime, lol.

As a resident of Dearborn, I’d have to say you could probably spend all your time sitting around the area of Rotunda Dr.and Oakwood Blvd. and see almost every Ford test mule ever created... Because they have a test track right there, lol. I saw a minimally camouflaged Ranger on Oakwood about a month ago (Front camo

This is super important to state so thank you for doing so! Even though the smart has a pretty strong occupant compartment, the lack of crumple zone means that the forces go straight into the cabin and therefore the occupants experience much more dangerous forces than you would in a normal long hood vehicle. Seatbelts

First car I drove was a 2010 Ford Edge similar to this:

The best solution is probably Ford’s wide angle inset mirrors. You have the regular mirror lens, but in the upper corner away from the car on either side is a wide angle insert. I think some other cars do this, but I’ve noticed it’s mostly a Ford thing. Of course, if you get BLIS, they get rid of the wide angle mirror

I’ve always really wanted to see something like an old Cavalier or Daewoo in the small overlap test. They were rated “Poor” for the moderate overlap so I can only imagine the carnage in this situation...

Hey now, at least none of the cars you mentioned are bad at all, they just wouldn’t sell well enough...

I liked it up until your last photo of the trunk... Why must we still have trunk hinges that swing down into the trunk and crush reasonably large things you may have in there? I like the way my car is set up so it has small pistons similar to the way a hatchback opens.

Instead of Explorer Sport, can we use a Flex EcoBoost instead? Just for the “cool factor”?

When I drove a Focus EV for a year as part of a research study, I had a few instances where the car would randomly display in a red warning box “STOP SAFELY NOW” and show a wrench icon. It wasn’t a problem where the battery would suddenly drop out like this, but you would still lose propulsion, and you’d have to cycle

The only true way to handle this situation... Also, thank you for this wonderful selection of a GIF.

You’re not wrong that’s for sure, lol. The Equinox is to me better looking than those three. Looking at the three of those together though I see a common theme, they all have some form of sharp creases across the front of the car, I think’s that’s the first thing that makes them strange looking. The RAV4 has a big

And yet, when I see them on the road, I can’t help but think they are also strangely ugly in person... The incredibly tiny LED DRLs on the front with a massive grill look bad during the daytime, and from the back it’s very “soft” looking, kind of droopy in the same way some minivans are from behind.
