I don’t know about those wiper blade washers, I really like the three sprayer setup on my current car with them hidden under the rear of the hood, they spray very nicely and I can still use a set of high quality Bosch or Trico blades as replacements.

Yeah, my 97 Cutlass Supreme had the kind that attached to the wiper arm too, but personally I thought the worked horribly. They didn’t really spread the fluid too well on the windshield and came out of alignment pretty easily. They also were useless in the winter here in Michigan... Granted, the wiper sizes were also

I agree with you on the MPG problem. If I go 70mph on the highway I can get 32+mpg (2013 Taurus, FWD, V6), but if I do 80, then it drops to about 27mpg... Although, higher speeds aren’t necessarily uncomfortable in it, it just increases wind noise mostly I guess, and it feels more relaxed which is what I personally

The small overlap test was added in 2012, but they have been doing moderate overlap offset testing for quite some time, since about 1995 looking at the top of the page you linked.

You’re not wrong to be honest... I’d like to see this and how a modern car fares at 70mph. My guess is it wouldn’t do too well because they are tested at fairly low speeds by comparison.

This is the sad truth isn’t it? No matter what a manufacturer says, they are only building a car to pass the test, like when the small overlap test first came about, remember how poorly nearly all of them did? Except Volvo, whose XC90 from the early 2000s still got a Good rating.

I have a Taurus and I have to say, a lot of the flack they get is not totally deserved. On its own, the Taurus is a very comfortable car to drive (I drive four hours on the highway, in Michigan, every other week and have a daily hour commute). And I get about 30mpg on the highway with the cruise set to 75mph. It also

This is exactly why I think these systems can be useful! Stuff happens that is out of your control sometimes and at least the tech can try and help get you out of a tough situation.

I agree, the new Equinox one may be the worst one yet... It feels like they made it bad on purpose.

The 5.4L Triton was discontinued after the 2010MY, since 2011 it was replaced by the 5.0L Coyote V8, but the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost (with better performance) has always had a price premium over the 5.0L. I’m not 100% sure where the new 2.7L V6 EcoBoost falls in line with this stuff though... And I think they are reworking

I’ve been a part of an EV program while at school and highway driving absolutely kills the range of the car. Going about 70mph, your range will be about 75% of what it should be. Granted, these were Focus EVs so they were not engineered to be good at EV driving to begin with like a Tesla... But yes, the higher the

I definitely see what you mean. I live in Michigan and if I set the cruise at 73 on the freeway, I can average about 32mpg, but bump that up to 78 or so and I’m looking at closer to 28mpg over 120 miles of driving... This is a huge difference for me, and my car is a 2013MY so it isn’t too old either...

I feel that a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid Platinum would be a good choice for this. The Hybrid gets very good fuel economy (about 40mpg average when I drove one for a few days, mind you it was winter in Michigan so the heater was working overtime as well) and is also very quiet even if it isn’t the quickest car out there.

I see this generation’s headlights in the new one, I think that’s why it looks similar.

The current Ford Taurus is pretty difficult to see out of. The back window is very small and the outboard head restraints are tall. Plus the rear deck is high and wide... But the blind spot mirrors make up for most of this while driving.

Interestingly, my top matches were 99% Porshe Cayman, 93% Maserati Quattroporte, and finally 89% Jaguar XF... I guess I just got lucky...

I was really hoping that the announcement would provide more information of the forthcoming Model 3. But the fact that they are installing this hardware on all of their cars is very interesting. I just hope it goes better than the current Autopilot has been going as of late...

Our 2013 Taurus has MyFord Touch, capacitive buttons and all, but I haven’t had any real problems with it. Although once upon startup the radio wouldn’t turn on, so I just restarted the car and it was fine... voice commands all seem to work fine, no worse than any other voice recognition software I’ve experienced, and

Are we sure they might not just bring in some form of the EcoSport to compete in the subcompact segment with the Trax, HRV, etc.? The Everest just wouldn’t do well in America I don’t think. Ford has the Edge for two row midsize, and the Explorer and Flex for three rows. Granted, the fate of the Flex is pretty up in

There are so many people I know who think GM and GMC are the same thing and it bugs me so much!
