Killing it.

That’s fucking outrageous. They’re the people who need to see those women the most, to hear their sons humanized, to see that those women are caring parents, just like themselves.

Michelle Obama is also taking heat for highlighting the invisible work of enslaved people. It takes a lot of work to keep the mantle of white, male, privilege in place. Not that they would recognize that.

I interpreted Maddow’s comments as less anti-feminist, and more a bit of bafflement that he would begin telling the story of their courtship, since we know what happens down the road. I actually agree with her that it was risky, but I think taken with the speech on the whole, you can see what they were trying to do.

I was a little surprised at Rachel Maddow’s reaction to Bill Clinton’s speech last night.

They were amazing and Sybrina Fulton brought tears to my eyes when she said she never wanted to be in the movement. Says everything, she wanted to watch him become a man have his own life just everything that asshole that shot him stole.

“Well, I didn’t get the perfect candidate I wanted, so I voted for the world to burn.”

Ok, my son’s father* has tried to get my son to vote for Trump. I can tell you what he told me the one time we had a political discussion, and what he has told my son**:

You guys are really killing it on this coverage, Stassa. This is a great article among great articles on The Slot, and I’m really glad you guys are here.

Yeah what I loved about Bill’s speech was the answer to the “Hillary Succeeded because of nepotism” complaint—he made it clear (to me at least) that Hillary Clinton’s career would have been, perhaps, even more successful had she remained Hillary Rodham.

FYI: The Mothers of the Movement portion of the DNC last night was cut from Fox’s broadcast. Nice to know you can omit footage when you claim to offer full broadcast coverage if it's not to your liking.

Michelle Obama’s speech emphasized this too, the way in which she talked about raising her girls and the importance of having someone they can look up to in the White House. What impressed me about Bill’s speech was that he reminded people that even before she was 30, Hillary was getting shit done. Michelle Obama did

I would be interested to hear a parent explain to their child why they want to vote for Trump. Everything he is is anathema to what (good) parents teach their children.

With you 100%. My son is ASD and there’s no chance I would change a thing about him. He’s hilarious and obsessed with Freddie Mercury and Scissor Sisters. I mean COME ON!

I know it probably doesn’t help, but those that made those comments to you previously were wrong. Offensively wrong. They are a minority of people who for whatever reason have something missing in their lives and need a crusade to prop themselves up. Cherish your child and pity their sadness.

I’ve commented many times on Jez about how the anti-vaxx movement deeply offends me as the mom of an autistic child. The last time I commented I got a response basically saying: “if you got to choose, you wouldn’t choose for your kid to have autism”. I thought about it a lot and I really think I would. My son has an

it’s also saying that you don’t mind killing other people’s children with your preference for a non-autistic child through the diminishment of herd immunity and spreading disease to immune-compromised individuals.

Yeah, being anti-vaxx is being anti-autistic people, PERIOD. I and people like me have the right to exist. I am not scarier than vaccine preventable diseases that CAN KILL. If you are anti-vaxx what you are saying is that you’d prefer a dead child to an autistic one. Ableist attitudes like that is what led that guy in

But what Mr. Trump did, he spoke in a language that all Americans can understand. That is English.

I’ll do my part to remedy this by posting one of my favorite images of Hillary. Hillary looks like one bad HBIC in this campaign poster.
