I got completely skewered by (presumably) pre-teens when I made this case against Fortnite a few weeks ago. But it’s true! The entire thing is shamelessly contrived. My favorite argument was “yeah all games are.” Great!

You mean how they buried Song Of The South by featuring the music and characters as a major attraction at both US parks?
Just once I’d like a Lego set that doesn’t make me vomit from sticker shock. Maybe I’m not seeing the scale correctly, but $90 seems absolutely insane for this. I’d balk at $60 I think. When the internet is bursting at the seams with cheap, consistently inconsistent clones, you’d think Lego might want to talk some…
This is a bizarre cultural quirk Japan has going on. If I cruise over to Tokyo, how many Michael Jackson albums will I find?
Definitely true, that’s why Mario/Zelda/etc. hold up better than, say, Goldeneye. Goldeneye looks terrible. I’d probably pay real money for a faithful remake with Pierce behind the golden gun, but that’s gotta be a licensing nightmare.
This game is a weird example of one that looks better now than it did in my memory. Usually stuff like Shadows of the Empire seems awesome in my mind and then you fire it up and its jank. This game (graphically) kinda sorta holds up though.
Nothing kills a passion project like Kotaku koverage. Sometimes I wonder if editorial ever thinks to kill a story on a REALLY good fan remake. But then this would seem to be that, wouldn’t it?
Neat, I’ll buy this and have one less reason to covet an Xbox One. Actually I think this set was about all there was left that I was missing out on without one. Weird business plan, but I like it.
I can get behind you on that one.
To be fair I’d be anti-taxation if my bank account looked like hers.
PS5 launch window is my guess. I think we know about all remaining exclusives for PS4, and one or more of those (like Last of Us 2) may end up releasing on PS4 and PS5 simultaneously.
I get it all the way over in CA but only because I watch Defunctland on YouTube. Some of the rides looked amazing. The loop-d-loop water slide not so much.
Holy shit. I’m getting a restraining order against 2/3 of these women if I’m in these situations. Y’all crazy.
Up next is the Donkey Konga drums.
I’m gonna go do a no-hit run of Bloodborne on my iPhone now.
Also, made for children. I think we can handle it.
WTF...
I’ve been wondering... is there any reliable way to measure concurrent players of RDO vs. say, GTA Online? I feel like no one is playing Red Dead Online, but maybe it’s just my circle.
I don’t necessarily think it’s impossible for Ubisoft to make a conscious decision not to do the Ubisoft thing on every game. I know it’s easy to imagine them fucking it all up, but it’s not out of the question that it could be good.
“Let’s see if the storylines allow an organic [way to bring], Sam, back.”.
