I mean, he really could for this type of show. It’s the type he always said he’d dip into.

Cure still exists? Their drinks were expensive but they were really well made. You could probably find them cheaper elsewhere, but it’s a safe bet and I’ve enjoyed everything I got there.

I recommended it, but I’ve gotten into a fight with a bartender there who accused a friend of lying about her legitimate ID because they didn’t want college kids hanging around and killing the vibe for some old tourists who were tipping well (just admitting that would have been nicer than treating us like shit). They

We were visiting Beijing during the National Day festivities. One of our group is black, and kids would just walk up to her and point and say “black.”

Well ripped off is black slang origin, so one could be appropriating language and culture that did not originate with them. Or something.

I’m not asking anyone to grow a thicker skin or anything, but if no one is actually offended by the term, why walk on eggshells to avoid offending imaginary people? That seems pretty silly.

Is anyone actually offended by “No can do?”

But most of this is just geographic designation. New Orleans’ doesn’t top those rates if you include the bordering neighborhoods, and most of the cities at the top of these lists have built-in exclusion of the most crime-ridden areas. The cities at the top of the list are always cities where the poor live, and the

No one’s traveling to New Orleans to go to Metairie. See also: people suggesting you go to Veterans Ave to get Cafe Du Monde. No.

Or just go catch the parades in Uptown.

Man I didn’t even make it to “You’re going to get murdered” before thinking “Fuck You”

Go to Cafe Du Monde. It’s cheesy, touristy, etc, but as a local I still went whenever I had to kill 30 minutes in the city. It’s real cheap and pretty fast (seat yourself? I didn’t know it was a thing to wait to be seated now).

The study underlying this argument (which I think has made it into mainstream news three times as of this post) is still garbage.

He shits up my otherwise enjoyable Ringer podcast feed with hot takes like “Team with glaring weakness should fix that weakness in the draft or free agency” and “WHEN I WAS IN BOSTON, BILL ALWAYS....”

Restricted Free Agency replacing Arbitration would be nice too.

The union probably should have, at minimum, attempted to boost the league minimum salary. If the minimum salary goes up, even for players locked in to long deals, the veterans look relatively better at the same price points.

They did this to themselves, though. I guess they can strike, but I’m not crying for them

When I try to erase the alien confrontation in my mind, I see her driving up to the fork in the road and thinking “Fight back or run away? Fuck it I don’t know shit about aliens” and running. The alien confrontation shows that she has ability and knowledge to fight back and the constitution to do so. Without the

She got the Netflix deal before her next film. Her special sucked, her next movie sucked, and she’s not worth 13m now, but you’re being willfully obtuse or dumb with these arguments.

Amy was in Trainwreck before her 13mil deal. Snatched came after. No one is arguing that Amy would get 13mil now.

Big tonal shifts upset even smart or well-meaning criticisms because a lot of people see jarring moments as inherently bad. The strong ending of the movie doesn’t work without the previous 10 minutes, and the ending is required to finish the character’s arc.
