Actually, both of you are saying the same thing from where I'm reading. You're just misunderstanding jrraddio— nowhere does s/he say that rights are being trampled.

I wouldn't say it's "just" with me, because several of my friends experience similar side effects with coffee, but it definitely varies according to the individual. Regardless, my original position remains true, which is that amphetamines =/= caffeine.

Caffeine does NOT work the way amphetamines do. Caffeine will suppress my appetite for a couple of hours, but then when I'm hungry, I'm a ravenous beast. Amphetamines (Adderall what what!) completely destroy my appetite, and don't leave me feeling like a starved animal once they start wearing off.

God, I agree. "Bitch," to me, is inherently degrading— it's definition is "female dog." To call someone that or be called that seriously is so, so much worse than "cunt."

Hmm. I'm not sure if that's what "cunt" means 100% of the time? I have usually heard it to refer to women who are aggressive/dominant/in-control— women who would be called "bitches," but with more bite to it. I've never heard it used to imply worth.

To answer your question: sorta. POC in general do not have claim to the n word. Black people, however, do. To "reclaim" a word is for a member of a population to take a word that has been used to offend/oppress said population, and to recontextualize it as positive/empowering/etc.

I agree— the word "bitch" is more disturbing to me, because degradation is inherent in its definition. To call a woman a "female dog," in my opinion, is worse than calling a woman a "cunt."

No, it isn't. Once again: transgenderism is not a sexuality or sexual identification. It is a gender identity. Gender and sexual identities are distinct categories.

No, I don't agree that there is a reason. That is why I want to know what you think the reason is.

It's unlikely that your uncle "inherited" male pattern baldness. What's more likely is that hormone treatment resulted in baldness, which is actually quite common among transmen.

Don't be astounded. Jez has long had anti-trans contingent, just like there have always been issues with racism among those who comment. This is true for the "feminist community" at large.

"But I do feel like there's a reason why there are separate bathrooms for opposite sexes"

A 6 year old doesn't need to know if they are truly transgender. They just need the freedom to go through that phase, and to define their gender and gender expression as they desire. This may change with time, or it may not. Either way, would you have the same concerns for a girl identifying as a girl, or a boy

I never found uniforms to be equalizers in terms of class. In fact, I’d say uniforms made class distinctions even more stark—those who were wealthy could afford well-fitted and high-quality clothing that passed uniform standards (khaki pants, white or orange polo), while those of us who were less well-off were stuck

Transgenderism is not a sexuality, and you're wrong about children not having an overt sexual identification. Many children begin masturbating as toddlers, and I've witnessed a number of babies/toddlers develop crushes with older children/teenagers/adults.

You're not being silly about this, but you'll find that many people disagree/don't care. The last time I got into an argument here on Jez about public accommodations for people who are trans*, I was told that transwomen shouldn't be allowed in women's bathrooms because, as I paraphrase, "I don't want penises all up

If the AMA and other professional medical associations deem breast augmentation for small-breasted women as "medically necessary," then sure, more insurances should start covering the procedure. Otherwise, you're talking about two completely different things.

Human beings, regardless of criminal affiliation, tend to self-segregate along ethnic/racial lines.

"Brazilian" is also not "Portuguese."

Man on man rape is actually more prevalent in the military.
