I used to work in an ER and I was shocked at how many people came in for simple ailments like colds and what not. It was unreal. I used to judge them, until I realized why they were doing it. The ACA wasn’t perfect, but Jesus H this is fucking scary.

Do these same people who say “that’s what ER’s are for” ever seen a Self-Pay bill for an ER visit? Probably not, because they have great insurance. But if they DID, they would see that just getting seen by the doctor, not counting labs or tests or scans, could run you upwards of $3,000 clams, depending on the doctor…

Not sure if someone already posted this but in hockey if the refs notice your flop, they can penalize you for 2 minutes. It’s called embellishment. Here’s a prime example from New Jersey’s Blandisi:
