that jacket really is unfortunate

This is adorable. Grumpy Cat and Grumpy Wolf.

Just wanted to say I like it over here at Jez more than any of the other Gawker sites. (Even io9, my most regularly visited site.) Not sure why I feel weird saying that as a straight white male, but I do. Soooo uh thanks for letting me hang out and thanks for being cool? I don't know, I'm not quite sure what I'm

This is beautiful. If I ever become a teacher, this is how I want to do things.

But he ISN'T affirming her choices. She's affirming his.

This only justifies and further entrenches the outcomes of socialized gender differences that we've grown comfortable with. I don't think justifying traditionally gendered actions does anything to clarify what feminism is and is not. FAIL.

Yeah. All of them seem to be directed at women. Even the guy's cards are about just because he doesn't agree with you doesn't mean it is because you are a woman, when he takes you out calm down it's not because he thinks he owns you, and in general saying women are defensive or overly sensitive.

I'm making my own. Because this shit would seriously not fly the other way around. It wouldn't even get an inch off the ground. Also, why is this called "50 Things Every Woman Should Know About Men" and not "50 Things Women Should Do For Men"? It's not a list of fucking facts. It's a list of commands. Anywhoo:

Can we please not call them "pro-vaxxers?" We don't call all tenured biologists pro-evolutionists or all board certified physicians pro-AIDS-truthers. There's no such thing as a pro-vaxx person or physician. There are normal, functional, educated people, and there are vaxx-deniers, AIDS-deniers, and evolution deniers.

Yeah, okay, so what? That's actually kinda cool in that it's a representation of human empathy in action! I have had the world's shittiest last two weeks, and posting that it was tough (once) on Facebook actually really helped. I find, generally speaking, people want to lift you up in bad moments (at least my FB

Maybe I just dont get twitter. Do people open twitter and just scroll thru tweets when they have free time? the amount of 'social interaction' seems like it would be non existent on twitter.

YOU LIVE WITH A MONKEY?
AWESOME!

Shailene still has The Fault in our Stars coming up, at the very least, that movie's indie cred is about as impeccable as them come.

One of the things I appreciated about the book was how accurately it evoked the utter devastation of my teenage heart breaks. But I emerged a fully formed, feminist woman, in a healthy relationship with a husband who plays an active role in housekeeping and child rearing.

My girlfriend and I moved in together last year - we each have our own rooms. We sleep together every single night (sometimes in mine, sometimes in hers) but our bedroom belongings - clothes, shoes, desks, knicknacks, messes, etc. - are separate. We figured we were both coming from years of living alone, and merging

The show is a romantic comedy. It was pitched as a romantic comedy, is shot as a romantic comedy, and has always been marketed and described as a romantic comedy. It is really good at being a romantic comedy. I don't understand why people criticizing it for doing the thing it has always claimed to want to do.

(They give a little shout-out to a certain lady blog you might be familiar with, too.)

"Happy now, Jezebel?"

First of all, her name is not Khaleesi. It's Danaerys. Khaleesi is her title. How are people messing this up? Second of all, that scene where Drogo flat rapes her on their wedding night is the only part of the HBO series that makes me want to kick puppies. Because if you read the books, which you should, what happens

They should ban sassy when describing Black women and children. Look at the Annie article. It said" of course there's lots of sass" or something like that. I guess since it is a predominantly Black cast we should have been expecting "sass".
