By your own definition, you’re a dick for finding this story “humorous.” Jess was very clearly being trafficked.

Yeah, a woman getting beaten unconscious and shoved in a closet is hilarious as long as she’s made enough bad decisions.

Who gave you the idea that a “start rate” for a white girl is $1000? That would be cool if it were true, but it’s not, or a lot more of us would have sex for money.

Did Slut Walk have any other brand name besides Slut Walk? She kept that bit. She could have called it “Walk of No Shame” like her video, or something else.

The song sucks, but WHO IS THAT GORGEOUS MAN?

Given that Slutwalk had been pretty over for a few years, and got a lot of valid criticism re: racism when it was active, it actually is kind of a big deal to have a Slutwalk lead by a WoC aimed at Amber Rose’s mostly-WoC fans.

I use the Queen Helene Julep Mask when I have a photo shoot or just want to look extra good that day. I know it’s a cult favorite, but I’m not convinced it has any lasting effects at all. I DO know for a fact that it will significantly improve the appearance of my skin for the next 6 hours or so, and sometimes that’s

Charging people 2k before they can reproduce and tossing new parents in jail sounds like it’ll be a GREAT system that won’t have any negative consequences for poor people at all...

I mean, it’s grey area. “Sex work” was coined as an umbrella term for people who sell sexual labor, but there’s a fair amount of disagreement about what counts, even/especially among those of us who are definitely sex workers. Sugar babies? Bikini baristas? Nude models? Underwear sellers? Desnudas?

Meryl Streep signed that stupid letter urging Amnesty International to not endorse prostitution decriminalization.

When I read stuff like this I am very glad I’m a sex worker.

When I went to international school in Thailand, all the teachers were Mr. or Mrs. First Name. When we moved back Stateside, all the teachers were Mr. or Mrs. Last Name and I recall at least one teacher complaining that she didn’t like it but it was against policy to let students use her first name, even with a Ms. in

This indicates that you are naturally monogamous and thus not the intended audience for this article.

This isn’t true. You have to prove intent to distribute and you have to have 2257s (which means real names) and making porn is still illegal in a lot of states.

There have been a ton of studies done in various parts of the world and I have a hangover and don’t feel like going on google right now. Do it yourself. Many of the studies contradict each other, but if you pay attention to how trafficking is defined and how they gather their data, you should be able to sort the wheat

I believe that some of the non-sexual characters who work in Times Square taking pictures with tourists have managers as well.

Oh dear god. You honestly think that people who work in slaughterhouses don’t have relevant opinions on their working conditions? Slaughterhouse work is incredibly dangerous and usually undertaken by the very poor. POOR, not ZOMBIES. Jesus fucking Christ. Nothing says “cares for our well being” like referring to us as

It doesn’t matter whether or not we’re empowered. What matters is that we’re protected and have rights.

It’s all pretty irrelevant, though. Most sex workers do sex work because it’s a relatively high paying job with low barriers to entry and an easy schedule. A small portion are actively coerced. Another small portion are in it for the fun.

I think this is the clear winner, but can you give us more details?
