Before the remastered version of Dark Souls was released I did also play it on PC with higher rez texture mods.  It looked great.  But yes, I had already played the hell out of it on the PS3 so I was playing without fear of losing a whole character to malicious hackers.

It’s no fun as a hunter to get pulled away from your real game into the bullshit. Basically if I get summoned to the First Step area and don’t see any movement from the host, I leave.

I definitely fought him pre-1.03 and was stomped every time.  Even with two cooperators and all the NPCs.  I beat him many times in my game and as a cooperator since then.  I thought I had got gud.  Clearly I was wrong.

As a matter of fact my first playthrough of a Souls game is done without Google, Wikis or Youtube videos for reference. It takes way longer, and I’m quite aware that I’m missing out on a lot of stuff but I still find it more rewarding. In Elden Ring I’m using three different character builds and progressing them…

The Souls games tell their stories in game.  You just have to read item descriptions and pay attention to NPC dialogue.  If that’s too much work for you then the Wikis and Youtubers are there.

When I got locked in the room with the stormcalling knight I clearly heard that jerk laughing. It was a Patches move, but I hadn’t met patches at that point so I assumed it had to be Gostock. I never noticed him skulking around the castle though.

What makes this not eye-rolling to me is that he’s narcing on Republicans here. It’s easy to imagine Matt Gaetz doing both the orgy-nizing and the key bumps. Maybe Cawthorn’s feeling betrayed because most of the party is fine with him getting removed from the ballot by the courts.

If Jada was hurt by the joke I can understand why Will Smith would see red. Any loving partner in those circumstances would, but that doesn’t excuse his reaction.

Unlike other Souls games, if you stick to single player in Elden ring you will never face a PvP situation. Invasions can only happen if you summon a co-op player into your world.  There are NPC invaders, but that’s just part of the game.

I’m running a few builds concurrently through the game and for combat my magic user mains the Moonveil. I don’t do invasions, but if I get invaded, or am summoned as a hunter, I feel zero guilt about levelling my opponent with it. I’ve been on the receiving end more than once as well. There was a new patch (1.05) for the PS4 version of Elden Ring that for me coincided with a PS4 software update to 9.50. After installing both updates Elden Ring can’t log me in to their server - “Could not verify PlayStation Plus Subscription”.

Even if they were - so what?

I will say that the game still has some bugs.  It has frozen up on me maybe a half dozen times and I think every freeze was triggered by a multiplayer summon arriving in the world.  The most annoying thing is that the PS4 doesn’t pick up on the crash, so there’s no report generated that might help get the problem…
