Seemed like they kinda hated it back then too

Agreed. I think the main issue here is Lindelof - had we not had an experience with him before, I doubt as many people would be claiming to know what his motive is. I try and stay away from ascribing motive to people I don't know.
I think part of the problem is people seem to think the disappearance is the central mystery here:
"it's trying to hard to be profound" is my favorite. How do you know how profound they mean it to be, and what exactly is the cutoff for trying too hard?

Not to mention she pronounced it nuc-u-lur
Well played sir, well played.
I will but only if you agree that now you're nitpicking my nitpick
Well I'd take issue with the choice of the word "nitpick" given that they really don't mean the same thing, but that would be me nitpicking again (and yes I'm just having fun here)
Wow, counter-arguing sounds way more fun than just, you know, discussion
Yeah you're getting the raw end of that deal (kidding, kidding)
Wuh what? Pretty big leap there that the message the show is trying to push is that "no one cares about equality". Nor do I think that was the point of this episode.
If the show's main purpose were a realistic depiction of nuns who do great protest work, I'd be upset too. But I really don't think that is this show. Everyone's an archetype of some kind. Though Crazy Eyes is a special brand.
You might want to stop watching - Lindelof and the uathor have made it pretty clear that while there is a mystery around the disappearance, the focus of the show is not on resolving said disappearance. Basically he's stepping up to the plate beforehand and just telling everyone to not worry about the mystery because…
I got the feeling that was kind of the point. I don't know why, but I think we all need to remember there's lots of story left and this was designed as a serialized show.
There is no explanation forthcoming. If you're watching the show hoping that they'll figure it all out, the promos for the show and other interviews have made it pretty clear the story being told is not that of the event.
Yeah I'm not sure if it ran over someone's dog (wrong analogy) but also why the hate seems so visceral, and to me it's Lindelof. Use a different name from now on, Damon!
to be fair, parents have a way of not answering legitimate questions from their children.
Now I have to shave this stupid goatee
Agreed. I'm surprised a lot of people seem to be OK with that.
