Flawed article. You claim that the 1998 Yankees had only 4 “home grown” players contribute at least 1 WAR that season, but you only counted players that they drafted for some reason. (I’m assuming to make your article look better.)

I guess Bernie Williams and Mariano Rivera don’t count as home grown because they weren’t drafted, they were signed? They only went through their entire farm system before the big leagues, guess that doesn’t count. At least not for your argument.
