But the whole point of Lego is that pieces can be used in many different ways beyond the obvious, and that they’re meant to be open to interpretation. I’ve seen bananas used as eyebrows and paint rollers used as light fittings. There’s nothing to say a bunch of plates can’t be ceiling tiles or that a bunch of plain…
If you’re just buying a console for one game, why not just buy an old Wii and the game and save yourself a couple of hundred pounds?
It’s worth pointing out that Mega Bloks and McFarlane have radically different approaches to their toy lines. Mega Bloks has stuff like Halo and Destiny in their lineup, which obviously has a grimier, more mature aesthetic attached to it despite the target audience. Lego, on the other hand, is all about the…
I think the whole point of keeping everything the same texture and shininess is so the pieces can be used interchangeably. It’d be a pain in the neck adding gloss and matt textures into the mix. Sure, some people might like the creative opportunities, but overall I think the gains would be pretty negligible.
If the creator posted a parts list and instructions online, you could certainly build these yourself. It’d probably be a pain in the neck to source all the bricks, but you could do it.
I get that these are really creative design projects, and I quite like them, but I can’t envision a single scenario in which I’d actually wear something like these. Maybe Muppet socks are my limit after all.
The English releases are set in America, but the original Japanese ones are, apparently, just in Japan. This becomes somewhat hard to believe when, in Ace Attorney Investigations, one of the characters claims America has hardly any guns.
Cave Story is a great game. I cannot recommend it enough, even if the final boss is ridiculous.
Shovel Knight is kind of a hybrid of Mario 3 and Mega Man with a pinch of Ducktales. It’s a lot of fun, and like the Lego games you only lose money rather than lives. This means the difficulty curve doesn’t get infuriating like Mega Man does. There’s not much exploration to speak of- hidden areas, certainly- but it’s…
Nobody celebrates being straight because that’s a sexuality we’re exposed to all the time in media and costs nothing to announce. Though you kind of hit on that point to begin with.
Hasn’t Zarya been kind-of flirting with Mei in some of the dialogue?
Tracer makes for great design and another pull to Overwatch as a game, but this whole thing also serves to highlight you can’t really add story or character development to a game like Overwatch without ruining the story you’ve worked so hard to establish. How do you explain Tracer and Widowmaker working together in a…
I’m not gonna lie, a lot of swearing and squashing was involved.
My family kept chickens for about 10 years (which is a great way to get eggs) and we stored them outside of the fridge in egg boxes. Never had any problems, though we’re in Europe.
I feel I should point out that Ellen McLain also narrated a wedding proposal.
What exactly is the status of Studio Ghibli? Does it still exist as an entity?
The point I was making is that, as a word, pride is a poor one to encapsulate what is ultimately a complex and nuanced situation. Yes, in reality it’s about having shared experiences, communities and struggles within an ethnic group, but in many respects the word alone doesn’t really succeed at conveying that.
I love Perry Bible Fellowship, though if the Netflix series is any indication, Power Man’s fighting style is only problematic in that it doesn’t really exist.
That’s an interesting point. I think that that lack of desire to inspire people (besides the fact I don’t know anyone to inspire) comes from a feeling that characteristics such as race and sexuality are ones we should be able to push into the background a little more. Not to the point where we hide them or deny the…
