It was Plaid when it launched, then Tesla split it into two models with Plaid being a regular battery short range version of the tri-motor, and Plaid + being the new battery chemistry with longer range and “better” specs. Now Plaid + is dead because Plaid is good enough, apparently.

I saw most Tesla fans say that the single centered display with very few other controls was all about cost savings for Tesla. I’d call that compromised.
