Red onions are a pretty passable substitute for shallots in a pinch.

El Jimador is definitely at the top of my list for cheap yet delicious as well as Mañana tequila. But if I'm feeling sophisticated I'll pour some Don Julio. You can never go wrong with the Don.

Michael Hague has such a distinctive style. I have a 30+ yr old hardcover of the Wizard of Oz with illustrations on nearly every page (and signed with a Lion doodle), and I think I kept my unicorn calendar of his, probably from sometime in the 80s.
