“Telluride, Colorado isn’t a tech startup hub. It’s not a manufacturing center. It’s a destination for sportsmen and women like the hundreds of Jeep people who visit every year, spend money on food and fuel and trinkets, and along with the ski resorts have kept the town prosperous after the precious metal mining scene

I work directly w/ a lot of water providers (most of them are run by local municipalities in some form), and the vast majority are quite good keeping up with water quality standards.

What are you basing that on? They’re typically regarded as one of the best streaming devices. Personally, I bought a refurb Roku 4 years ago and have never had anything go wrong with it.

If the game went on long enough it would trend to zero. But one would imagine that a lot of people would try 2/3’s of 50 or something like that.

I just like the interface better (or maybe I’m just used to it since I’ve been using Thinkpads for 9 year!), so it’s probably more of a personal preference thing. Functionality is probably about the same. That’s why I don’t mind that they bundle it w/ their hardware, but it is definitely not ok that they make it so

I actually like a lot of the included Thinkpad “bloatware” and use it instead of their Windows counterparts (network utility, power manager, etc.). That being said, if someone goes through the effort to do a clean install they shouldn’t have to deal with this shit.

I learned when I was 22 because my company’s automatic truck was stolen and they ended up replacing it w/ a 5-speed Dodge Dakota. So I had to learn that stick fast! Sadly in the last 10 yrs (don’t work there anymore) I haven’t made much of an effort to keep up on my manual driving skills.

I was wondering what you do when you desperately have to take a shit, but you’re with your kids in a public area?”

Some schools are $60K/yr (when you include room & board) and will be a lot more when my kid is 18. If they end up getting into and decide that a school like that is best for them, there is no way they can foot that bill themselves, so yea, if I have the means I will help them out as much as I can. Sure they can take

Do they also censor guy’s bloody nipples during marathons?

Roth IRAs have much lower annual contribution limits ($5500 vs $14000) and also have a lower income cutoff - contributions to Roths start getting phased out at $183,000 for married couples, whereas I don’t think there are income limits for participating in most 529s. And also in a lot of states you get to deduct 529

Average annual private college tuition + fees + room/board = ~$42K x 4 years = $168,000. which is about half the limit, so your characterization of the limit being ~10x that of tuition is off. And if you factor that college tuition grows at a much higher rate than inflation, that $300k will not even cover 4 yrs of

States have different 529 contribution limits - I’ve heard you aren’t limited to your own state’s plan, is that true? And if you contribute until the fund hits the limit, and it continues to grow through its investments, what happens to the amount above the limit?

Probably his water bottle (there appear to be liquid coming out. They don’t carry CO2 pumps, the team car has all mechanical stuff.

Seconded ... the Fire Stick is a great device. Hopefully since it already has HBO Go it will get HBO Now soon.

HBO Now is HBO’s standalone streaming service. You can buy it for $15/month without requiring a HBO subscription with cable.

Game of Thrones has always been a good example of using CGI to enhance, but not get in the way.

They make an Australian version that does exactly that. Annoying that there is no US version.

People who use their phone for work? I work from home. I’m on the phone a lot, and people leave me voicemails if I can’t answer when they call. Go figure. Pretty sure a lot of people use their cellphones for work.

No undershirts in the summer usually. And not cotton dress shirts when it’s hot, more typically hiking/outdoors oriented long-sleeves like these:
