Both are necessary (amongst other things), but many people don’t even consider seriously evaluating a partner’s emotional maturity and how it will affect their relationship/potential children.

When it comes to considering marriage/having kids, people talk a lot about preparation (e.g. being financially secure), but I feel like we need to talk more about the emotional maturity to do such things.
