People don’t “choose” their gender. They choose to accept themselves as they are, whether or not people agree, and start loving themselves. He should have been born a boy but yet due to whatever causes people to be born trans, gave him a female body.

Most of the transition that young M2F people go through is entirely reversible. Male puberty is irrevocable. Waiting means permanently committing to a lower voice and masculine body. Chemical treatment means more time to decide.

Gender identity is different from other decisions that young people make. Given that many trans youth commit/attempt suicide because they are prevented from expressing their identity, I would think that it’s healthier to let them decide.
