“I’m alive, I’m well,” she said with a smile. “That means everything’s OK.””
“I’m alive, I’m well,” she said with a smile. “That means everything’s OK.””
It’s nomenclature. If she doesn’t want to accept it, why do you care?
Ugh. C’mon Jez. There was more to her quote than that. I know you have to get clicks, but don’t sell out another woman to do it. Here’s a fuller version of the interview, via USA Today (see the bold in particular):
If I have too see an undershot of a 16 year old’s butt one more time I’m going to lose it.
I mean, male athletes pull this “retirement ... just kidding!” stuff all the time, right? Doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.
This is part of why my brain gets all tangled up when I see people on Jezebel upholding Kim as some feminist icon. Look at how she has tweaked her body from head to toe to meet every single criteria of modern beauty in the western world (while still proclaiming body confidence for all ladies.) Look at how she competes…
I remember reading an article that talked about a woman author who recently died where the central premise was her writing would have been better if she had children. Scores of authors called that article out.
The obit I read contained the interesting nugget that she moved to the remote Pitcairn Islands and despite the dual disadvantages of being plain and overweight and there being a shortage of eligible men (the total population is like 36 or something) she STILL managed to snag a husband. The “Thorn Birds”? Oh, who…
Even if his wife did get pregnant, he’s not going to have to deal with it. He is obviously a “the kids are my wife’s job” kind of a guy.
Nor paying the medical and care bills for a lifetime, let alone living with the emotional consequences.
Until you’ve experienced it, you really have no idea of the enormity. Women (and their husbands!) need options.
You can abandon your baby. My niece spent a long time in a well-known childrens hospital. A couple children lived there because they were abandoned and needed very specialized care. The rest would be sent to pediatric nursing homes. Yes, they exist. It’s really hard to keep a child at home, even when you have…
Holy fucking shit. That obit makes me wish there were ghosts, because it’s a travesty that McCullough doesn’t have the opportunity to fuck that obit writer up from beyond the grave.
Which would explain why a good catholic only has two kids.
Damn, was going to post:
No, I don’t think of adoption as a good fall back answer for Rubio and Co’s goal of eventually outlawing abortion. Not at all .
Absolutely! Serious question, can a woman give up a child because the he or she is born with incredibly severe, painful birth defects? How would this even happen? Which agency? There are countless women/families who simply do not have the resources of time, money, and emotional support to adequately care for some of…
The problem is, he doesn’t say he’s anti-abortion, he says he’s pro-life. But then he’s in support of the death penalty. So he clearly does not stick to his convictions and is inconsistent on the matter of whether “life” is to be protected at all costs.
Dear Marco Rubio, Fuck you. (Back to the Olympics.)
“If I’m going to err, I’m going to err on the side of life,” he said.
