Just got one. First ever. Corners better than our old 08 Outback. It’s bitchin.

What?! The Mazda 5 is one of the best all round vehicles. Cheap, handles great, and great space for it’s size. Only complaint might be a buzzy engine but it can be had with a manual for godsakes! It’s easily my favorite vacation rental car. This is sad news.

It happened. We bought a Minivan this weekend. A Honda Odyssey EX-L. What a sweet ride. My wife and I keep saying over and over “I can’t believe we bought a minivan” but no regrets as I was fearing. The article helped bring us around. http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/parents-just-b… These things are ridiculously

Exactly. Ventilating the attic is a key component so the hot air isn’t fighting to warm the surfaces the cooler air is trying to drop the temp on. Since your attic is finished your box fan, in this scenario, is essentially a whole-house-fan. For those of us with unfinished attics (in not so warm evening climates)

Whole house fans help cool the house itself and not just the person which helps delay how long it takes the house to get warm the next day.

Do you have a link to the build? If not, write something up as it would be a great read! Also to clarify, attic fans (what I have now) are a little different than whole house fans in that attic fans “pull” hot air out of the attic. Whole house fans pull (hopefully cool) air from the living areas and “push” it into the

Air conditioning is useless in Antarctica.

Nonsense. More Tires = Moar Traction. I hear Alfa Romeo is testing an 8 tire version of the 4C called the 8C. It should be “real quick”.

Old asshole in the white t-shirt was lucky that encounter was had with a very reasonable human being.

You no break Hummer. Hummer break you.

I had no idea car companies were deleting dipsticks. Day, ruined.

Just saw this. Dammit Honda. Gross. Just give the Odyssey an AWD option and remove Pilot entirely. As I write this I can barely stand to listen to the misguided drivel Mr. Conrad is spewing.

Never driven one but I did sit in one. The doors closed with as much conviction as the 30 year old screen door at Grandma’s house. I have a sneaking suspicion that car is going to decompose faster than the 96 Lumina my Parents had.

You are correct in pointing out that no one has produced any evidence showing backing in is indeed safer but I would like to point out that the NHTSA is mandating backup cameras on all cars made after 2018. Visibility to the rear is an issue even for a corrupt bloated government organization, or as Ballaban calls it

I love the hasty generalizations you make about a bunch people commenting. It’s also interesting that you assume that none of the responses are from women simply because they don’t feel the need to come out and say it, or say they wouldn’t date a guy because of “insert mindless reason”. I find it hard to imagine that

You completely miss the point. Either you’re backing in or backing out. Total amount of time taken to enter and exit the stall is the same. One just happens to be a lot safer. A fact especially appreciated by parents of small children who understand how this ‘parking thing’ works.

A million times yes.

Eating all those apex’s early is going to spoil his dinner.

I have an Element and it is most certainly not an exception for #3. Concept version of the Element - yes. Production version - no. Just don't.

Absolutely. The lesser of the two evils is usually the only manageable choice. Maybe just vote for the one that supports campaign finance reform...
