I’m just saying, this kind of thing never happens at a steakhouse.

I’m not usually one to clutch my pearls, but imagine it this way.

*famous person says something fundamentally supportive in an imperfect way that is emblematic of a much larger problem: which is that white, cis, straight people refuse to recognize the spectrum, influence, and importance of queer history and culture.

One of the biggest reasons why I love Sense8, besides the awesome writing, was the fact that they use a REAL trans actor to portray a trans character. Most non-trans people don’t realize just how important this is to those of us in the non-gender binary world. How many times has a straight actor portrayed a trans

Counterpoint, yes you do.

As I mentioned, I have a traumatic brain injury from a car accident.

I have an image stuck in my head of you standing at your window, seething about those neighbors down the street who’re always parking in front of the house, or the people next door who have a lot of friends coming and going and so surely must be drug dealers. How even do you function?

So your belief is that people shouldn’t be allowed to own pets, unless you lead some sort of feral society-free life. Cool, very reasonable. Are you against the domestication of all animals, or just ones you don’t eat?

I had a chiflado once. Wait. No, that was a chalupa.

This is sad because as black people, we have legitimate reasons to fear the government when it comes to medical procedures. We’ve been unwillingly sterilized, unknowingly given syphilis, and had our cells unknowingly used to create vaccines and make medicine for the common world without compensation or consent. That

Really great stuff here, Anna. Please keep doing these long-form posts.

This reminds my random mind of a story, where my husband had a ‘friendship’ with a goose who lived in the park-area around his workplace. He named her Gertrude (or Gurty, like the character in ET), and he really liked her. Then, one day, She was out there hanging out with Richard, and my husband was over the moon!

I’ve been sitting on the couch, putting off walking to the weed store because it’s 95 out. I’m almost inspired to finally get off my ass.

Yeah I’m a terrible person, I hate trauma victims. That was my point thanks for getting it. As a kid, it was great when people said my younger sibling died because God needed him. I’m not mad at trauma victims, I’m mad at religious bullshit.

Goddamnit if your baby comes out at 4 pounds or under you need to take that baby to the hospital you dumb shits

This white ppl hated it so much that I could not even ‘hate watch’ it. They deserved jail.

100% agree. Was it an amazing piece of comedy? Probably not. Is it worthy of all this pearl-clutching and outrage, including from people on the left? HELL FUCKING NO. Also, internet, please stop comparing this to tea party racists burning Obama in effigy and fake lynching him, this is not even remotely comparable.

No one involved in the legacy of the other gallows has come forward to say yea or nay on this. I don’t hear any Iraqis or descendants of John Brown standing up to have this preserved.

I’m with you, I actually think this adds to the artistic relevance of the piece quite a bit. The burning is part of how we are collectively experiencing it allows the Dakota people can take agency over their own story. I’m quite impressed and moved, actually.

I was going to push a jade egg up my chocha and then saw a picture of Attractive Gwyneth Paltrow and said: aw hell no. I’m just going to wait for an uglier, less successful woman to sell me an expensive, one-way ticket to vaginal bacteria-palooza.
