Which, honestly, is as important to me as loving the same things.

Bless you for that.

I love that movie! Saw it at my local indie theater, bought the DVD when it came out, then bought the book. My first introduction to Emily Blunt! I’d recommend the book too; it’s less whimsical but a perfect summer read.

Goddamn it, that might be the best scene to come out of Jojo’s entire season.

The man is showing brain.

Yep. I ate half a loaded edible expecting a normal body buzz and it tripped me the fuck out. It felt like I was in a dream and couldn’t wake up, it stop shivering. Total nightmare.

Maintenance care is what’s keeping me alive, when you really get down to it. Without my subsidized insurance there is no way I could afford the pap smears, follow up colposcopies and biopsies required to monitor the precancerous cells on my cervix. The ACA isn’t perfect, but goddamn is it helpful.

Her outfit immediately caught my eye. I used to work in a preschool and we couldn’t wear anything without sleeves. Or yoga pants as pants.

“Cheeky.”

That is EXACTLY what my boyfriend told me. Minus the star.

Holy shit I did NOT realize that this was Dr. Loveless. He’s gone so gray!

True. But I *do* give her some credit for mentioning that trans women of color are being killed/attacked in greater numbers than their white counterparts. Just some credit, though.

My plan was to see “The Lost City of Z” right after work, but severe lack of parking and my growling tummy sent me to get McDonald’s and then home instead. Boyfriend is out at the corner bar with his friends and I am happily swaddled on the couch wearing a butterfly hair clip and watching Hateful Eight. Ahhhh!

Never underestimate the power of a little nutmeg in your butternut squash risotto.

I felt the same way about the scene between Hannah and Adam in episode 8 of this season! They’ve decided to get back together, they’re figuring out logistics...And then, slowly, it just hits them both that they’re playing house and it’s never going to work for them. Both of them holding back tears and then just

I rewound it several times. Peter McNichol’s reaction is what made that scene!

“...Is it sad?”

Me either. It was so sad, but I LOVED the way they showed the inmates dealing with her grief: everyone bringing gifts to her friends, her friends alternately laughing and crying while remembering her...ugh. I’m tearing up just thinking about it.

Yeah, gotta give him that one lol.

“Guests of the government” slayed me. I’ve had a few family members who were also guests and they, too, were pretty schmucky. It’s also weird to be a black woman with black family members who’ve been in the system and be able to say that yeah, it was totally justified and they were exactly where they needed to be.
