I’m not comfortable with the fact that the statement is coming from Hickerson and not Panettiere. I understand privacy, but if they’re going to make a public statement at all, it should be from the person everyone’s worried about.

The thing is, as a government employee myself (Canadian, thankfully), I actually like working in the public service. So many of us are die-hard Leslie Knope types. Regardless of political party in power, that doesn’t change. It’s nice when the government actually lets you do that job, though. 

I like her. She has a strong work ethic and the political/policy knowledge and she is fearless.

Thank you. DiFi’s opening statement was exactly what it should’ve been: she welcomed the committee’s new members, then laid out her case against the nominee with very specific references to his boneheaded positions on the Mueller case and executive authority.
